This clip illustrates just a couple of possible components that could be found to be determinants of performance. By raising the specificity of the neural / kinematic aspect of skier development, factors that have a strong effect on overall athletic performance can be targeted and addressed through appropriate intervention during training. Kinematics (geometric components) are a strong determinant of how physics and gravity will affect performance; control over kinematics is as much affected by muscle timing as it is affected by force or muscle power. Although many abilities are strength related and are affected by physical maturity, control of many kinematic components can be learned during pre-adolescence (substantial motor control usually begins from age 9), before physical maturity is reached.
New Western Glory provides solutions to team and individual performance goals by accessing quantitative measurement of performance indicators. We provide video and analysis technology to help you measure the progress in achiving efficiency in motor-skill behavior in your students.
