NewsHandshake System TrainingGive legs to your athletic ambitions!Handshake system training was developed in 1999 and tested on athletes of all ages within high school, collegiate and elementary track programs throughout the western United States (Califronia, Oregon, Nevada, and Idaho) and in Asia.
2010 marks the first year this system has officially been offered as a fully intergrated running program for all sports in which running plays a critical competitve role. Handshake System Training can be incorporated in both in-season competitive running training and in "non-competitive season" preperatory training. The target outcome of this training is to develop "critical" successful runner attributes within athletes in order to benefit the regular (coach's) training program. We do not presume to know more than the existing coach (most coaches agree that the abilities we develop become tremendous assets to their runners which, in turn, enhance their running training programs). (below: Head Idaho State U. XC coach, Brian Janssen, discusses the neruomuscular aspect of Handshake training).
Handshake System Training incorporates the physiological and psychological aspects as well as addresses the neuromuscular and cognitive components of runner development. Emphasis is placed on developing anaerobic abilities while developing aerobic capacity. Contact Todd Nunan tnunan@nwglory.com for more information |
