Handshake System Training can be incorporated in both in-season competitive running training and in "non-competitive season" preperatory training. The target outcome of this training is to develop "critical" successful runner attributes within athletes in order to benefit the regular (coach's) training program. We do not presume to know more than the existing coach (most coaches agree that the abilities we develop become tremendous assets to their runners which, in turn, enhance their running training programs). (below: Head Idaho State U. XC coach, Brian Janssen, discusses the neruomuscular aspect of Handshake training).
Handshake System Training incorporates the physiological and psychological aspects as well as addresses the neuromuscular and cognitive components of runner development. Emphasis is placed on developing anaerobic abilities while developing aerobic capacity. What is Handshake System Training?
